Job description

About Vietnam Investments Group

Founded in 2006, Vietnam Investments Group (“VIG”) is a leading private equity firm focused on high-growth opportunities in Vietnam. Headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City with $600M AUM, VIG invests in a wide range of sectors, including Consumer Retail, Education, Healthcare, and Tech & Media.

VIG’s team combines deep local insight with international investment and operational experience. We offer strategic support to portfolio companies while generating financial and social returns for our partners.

The Role: A Hybrid Position in Investor Relations & Investment

We are seeking a talented, entrepreneurial individual to join our team in a cross-functional role spanning Investor Relations and Investment Analysis. This is a rare opportunity to work directly with the firm’s Partners and take a front-row seat in Vietnam’s private equity landscape.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working across disciplines, and is motivated by both data-driven decision making and relationship-building. The right candidate will also possess strong cultural awareness and communication skills to effectively engage with both international investors and local stakeholders.

1. Key Responsibilities:

Investment Analysis (70%)

  • Conduct research on sectors, companies, and macroeconomic trends in Vietnam and the region.
  • Build and maintain financial models, valuation analyses, and investment memos.
  • Support due diligence, deal structuring, and post-investment value creation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with portfolio companies to track performance and support strategic growth initiatives.

Investor Relations (30%)

  • Prepare quarterly fund reports, performance updates, and investor presentations.
  • Manage communications with current and prospective investors across Asia, Europe and North America.
  • Organize investor roadshows, virtual and in-person meetings, and due diligence processes.
  • Assist with capital raising activities including data rooms, pitch materials, and LP Q&A.
  • Act as a key liaison between the fund and its investors, ensuring timely and accurate responses.

Job requirement

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field. MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in finance, investment, accounting, or consulting. Exposure to top-tier investment or advisory firms is highly valued.
  • Exceptional communication and emotional intelligence (EQ) — able to maintain rapport and trust with international investors through proactive and personable engagement.
  • Experience producing high-quality reports (e.g., macroeconomic or investment analysis reports), ideally with strong business writing ability. Familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT for content assistance is a plus.
  • International perspective: Candidates with international education or work experience—particularly those with multicultural backgrounds or Việt Kiều with strong cultural fluency—are preferred. The ability to view Vietnam through both local and foreign investor lenses is essential.
  • Highly organized, analytical, and self-directed — able to manage multiple deliverables with minimal oversight. This role requires initiative, adaptability, and the ability to proactively build internal networks and navigate ambiguity across teams.
  • A service-oriented mindset with a passion for client interaction and investor support.
  • High integrity and a long-term commitment to Vietnam and the private equity space. Candidates should be excited about building a career in the region.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken). Other language skills are a bonus.
